In the Spring of 2005, the History Department, along with Geography, was designated as a Specialist Humanities College. Under this scheme the Department is granted extra resources to help raise attainment and provide an enriched curriculum for the students at Withernsea High School. The Department also works with partner schools in the wider community.
History is one of the most popular and successful subjects at Withernsea High School. The Department has been praised by the Local Authority, OFSTED and most importantly by students and parents.
