(D) Coastal Landscapes
Coastal Landscapes
This unit has been about contrasting coastal FEATURES - the Erosion Landscape of Flamborough Head (caves, arches, stacks, wave-cut platforms); and the Depositional Landscape of Spurn Head (beaches, spit). It is also about the PROCESSES of coastal change - how the sea erodes, transports and deposits material. It finishes with how the coast is being MANAGED to reduce the impact of coastal erosion - but how some 'solutions' create further problems for others.
