Our Aims
History has a value and relevance to all pupils at Withernsea High School, whatever their academic ability, gender or age. It develop skills and knowledge that can be used by adults both in their role as a citizen and as a member of the workforce.
The main aims of History:
To develop a sense of identity and cultural heritage through learning about the development of the locality, Britain, Europe and the World.
To Give pupils the opportunity to study the changes in the economy society, culture and political structure of Britain from the Middle Ages to the twentieth century.
To develop the skills, concepts and knowledge necessary to understand and interpret the past.
To develop the necessary skills for the world of work in the 21st century
